Epiphyllum anguliger (Ric Rac Cactus)

We love the zig zag shaped leave and interesting growth patter of the Ric Rac Cactus. As it get larger the zig zag stems will drape over the pot in a fun and hap-hazard way. This bright green cactus is not your typical prickly specimen, it cannot tolerate too much direct sun, it likes more water than a traditional cactus .Since it originates in Southern Mexican Rain Forest it appreciates a little extra humidity.

Your Fish Bone will grow up to 2 feet long and would be fun in a hanging basket as it gets older with longer stems. 

 Light: The Ric Rac prefers bright but indirect light, too much direct sunlight will burn its leaves. Find it a bright room or put it near a south facing window. 

 Water: Keep the soil moist in the growing season, soak thoroughly once the top inch of soil has dried and allow to drain completely. If you use a saucer be sure to dump the excess water out, allowing it to sit in water will lead to root rot. 

 Humidity: It will do just fine in an average household environment but a little additional humidity will make it extra happy.
