Tradescantia a ‘Nanouk’

This plant has blown up in popularity lately and we can see why! This Tradescantia cultivar was created in 2012 and is just stunning with pink and green striped leaves and purple under leaves. It has quite hardy stems and will grow upright until it is eventually heavy enough to begin trailing. Just like the many other Tradescantias that we know and love, the Nanouk is fairly easy going and if well taken care of will grow quickly. It's sure to add a pop of color to your plant collection, get one while you can they go quickly! 

Light: Nanouk requires a lot of bright light in order to keep those beautiful colors vibrant. They can tolerate direct sunlight for short periods of time, but can get burned leaves if given too much direct sun. Tradescantia will grow and lean towards the light so make sure you are rotating your plant on a regular basis. 

Water: Tradescantia Nanouk are prone to root rot and do not like to be overwatered; that being said, they do not like to dry out completely either. This can get a little tricky but once you have the hang of it your plant will thrive! Water when the first couple inches of the top soil is dry. Do not allow your plant to sit in water, this may cause root rot. 

Humidity: Tradescantia Nanouk is not very picky when it comes to humidity. Unless you live in a very arid climate, it will thrive in your indoor space.
